Circus Rising, an exciting new youth development project coming to Skylight this spring thanks to support from Rochdale Creates.
What is Circus Rising?
Our Spotlight Performance Troupe and Youth Forum Group are taking creative control to plan and produce a Youth Circus Takeover Festival – a public event taking place on Saturday 28th March 2026 as part of the Rochdale Youth Arts Festival weekend.
Youth Voice in Action
At Skylight, we’ve always been passionate about giving young people the opportunity to make an impact and shine. Our youth forum recently shared their vision: to bring people together and inspire the local community through circus performance and workshops.
Circus Rising puts that vision into action. From January – March 2026, our young people will be developing their circus skills, learning to teach and planning every detail of their festival event – from branding and promotion to performances and workshops.
