Enriching communities with performance

A blessing to Rochdale and it’s communities, the last few years have been the most difficult and Skylight's work is valued & needed more than ever within the Borough.

Written In Stone Project

In 2022, we were thrilled to deliver ‘Written in Stone’ project which was part of Extraordinary Bodies’ ‘Delicate’ Community Connectors Project.  Following a trip to the Lowry to see ‘Delicate’, 19 participants aged 16 – 81 years old, explored what delicate means to each of us through poetry and land art sessions, led by artist Winston Plowes.

The group, who have a range of health conditions, took part in six multi sensory sessions.  We saw patterns in nature, touched them, smelt them!

“We explored what delicate means to each of us and how strength can be delicate.  People thought there was great honesty and that vulnerability is a strength not a weakness”  Martine Bradford Creative Director

This beautiful video below is by Winston Plowes and shows our moments of exploration, creation and sharing.
