Rochdale local history research and making

Sparrow Hill Project Update!

Skylight’s National Heritage Lottery Fund project is well underway!  Our young people and Silver Circus volunteers have been researching the history of our neighborhood at Sparrow Hill. We’ve visited St Chad’s Church, had a local tour with Colin Meredith and researched the fantastic treasure trove of resources at local studies!

We’re now making history by creating a giant pop up book with artist Kerith Ogden!

“Our group of young people and Silver Circus have uncovered some fascinating stories.  We’re really looking forward to sharing them with you in story telling performances!”

Martine Bradford, Creative Director

We’ll be publishing some of our discoveries online soon. In the meantime, here’s a little taste of what we’ve been doing!

Thank you St Chad’s!

It was great to have a tour around St Chad’s Parish Church. There were so many fantastic things to see. We learned so much and would like to say a huge thank you to Graham for the very special Tour of St Chad’s Rochdale (click to watch video)!

Impact Video 2022-23

Impact 2022 - 23

"Amazing to be on TV! Wow!"

Impact 2022 -23

This was a year of reinvigoration and reconnection with excluded and vulnerable groups. From the joy of performance to circus outreach across the North West, our small team made a huge impact!

As the curtains close on another incredible year of daring acrobatics, mind-boggling diabolo tricks and jaw-dropping aerial performances, it’s time to take a step back and reflect on all the astonishing feats Skylight Circus Arts has accomplished in 2022 – 2023. What better way to relive these unforgettable moments than through our “Annual Impact Video”!
