Learn to juggle, ride a unicycle, walk on a tight wire or just hang out on the trapeze.

Members of all Skylight youth circus classes, develop circus skills and confidence, make new friends and have opportunities to take part in performances. Oh, and have lots of fun!
5-8 Years Class
A bouncy class introducing circus skills and games in a safe supportive environment.
8-13 Years Class
Students work on a wider range of circus skills: unicycle, juggling, diabolo, stilts, trapeze, silks and hoop, with opportunities to perform in Skylight shows.
Young people creatively explore their circus skills and have increased opportunities to perform.They access specialist training from touring companies.
Aerial for Young People
Aerial improvers class aimed at the 8-12 and 13-19 Youth Circus Classes
Classes for 55 years+
Silver Circus funded by CCG (NHS)
Sociable and fun, sessions to promote well-being, coordination, flexibility, balance and confidence. Learning new skills can help slow down the onset of dementia.
Work on your strength, flexibility and stamina. Learn moves on the trapeze, climb a rope and explore silks – a new fitness work-out or the beginning of a circus career!

Classes for those with Additional Needs and Disabilities
Skylight’s team has a wealth of experience working with people with disabilities.
ROPE – Circus and Aerial Swing for adults with disabilities (unfunded drop-in)
Specialised aerial swings and harnesses gently suspend or exhilaratingly swing and spin participants through the air. Participants and carers work together on sensory equipment, circus skills, games and parachute.
Sky-High Sessions funded by Rochdale BC Short Breaks
Sessions promote inclusiveness, activity and social awareness for children with a disability. Circus is an exciting way to improve coordination, confidence, mobility and focus – on the ground and up in the air! Harnesses fully support them on the aerial swing, tightwire or stilts. Squashy mats, inflatable balls, wafting parachutes and aerial cocoons offer sensory experiences. Sky-High is designed around the needs of young people with a wide range of disabilities from ASD, physical and learning disabilities to complex and sensory impairments. Participants must have a disability/diagnosis and be a Rochdale resident.
Professional Training Courses
Skylight runs training programmes when funding is available. Recent masterclass have been provided by touring companies performing in Manchester: Circolombia, Lost in Translation and Citrus Arts.(2016/7)
